Role & Company / Project Overview: Bright IT Inc is seeking a Principal Software Engineer with proven technical leadership experience for our client Cotiviti in the Healthcare & Life Sciences industry. We are looking for a highly experienced engineer who combines strong hands-on engineering expertise with proven technical leadership on a C2C basis. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Combine strong hands-on engineering expertise with proven technical leadership to design and deliver scalable production systems. • Lead and mentor a team of 4 to 8 engineers. • Drive architectural and technical decisions across the engineering organization. • Conduct code reviews and establish engineering standards and best practices. • Own delivery milestones and proactively resolve technical blockers. • Partner closely with Product Managers and Architects to define and execute technical vision. • Conduct technical interviews and support hiring initiatives. • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, observability, and robust application security practices. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 10+ years of software engineering experience. • Strong expertise in Java 11+ and Spring Boot. • Proficiency in Spring Cloud, Spring Security, and Spring Data. • Strong MS SQL experience including T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization. • Event-driven microservices architecture experience using Kafka. • Hands-on front-end development experience with React, Angular, or Vue. • Hands-on experience with Claude AI. • Containerization and orchestration experience using Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). • Strong CI/CD, observability, and security practices. • Proven experience designing and delivering scalable production systems. • Strong code review and architecture skills. • Visa Requirements: No OPT / H1B; other visa categories considered. Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Location: Remote – USA. • Job Type: C2C contract. Compensation & Benefits: • Pay Rate: $65 per hour on C2C.
