Role & Company / Project Overview We are seeking a strong, hands-on Principal Software Engineer with 10 to 12 years of experience for a 100% remote position on W2 employment. The ideal candidate will act as a technical leader who drives system architecture, mentors engineers, influences key technical decisions, and delivers high-performance production systems at scale. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties • Architect, develop, and maintain robust microservices and scalable distributed systems using Java and Spring Boot ecosystem. • Design, optimize, and manage relational database schemas, complex T-SQL queries, and stored procedures in MS SQL. • Implement and maintain Kafka-based event streaming architectures for real-time data processing. • Build and integrate modern front-end user interfaces using React, Angular, or Vue. • Leverage hands-on experience with Claude and generative AI tools to augment development and system capabilities. • Build, configure, and maintain containerized applications with Docker, Kubernetes, and major cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP). • Drive CI/CD automation, security standards, and system observability best practices. • Perform thorough code reviews and champion engineering best practices across teams. • Lead, mentor, and coach engineering squads of 4 to 8 members. • Partner closely with Product Managers and Solution Architects on defining technical roadmaps. • Participate in hiring initiatives, conduct technical interviews, and contribute to team building. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience • 10–12 years of professional software engineering and technical leadership experience. • Advanced proficiency in Java 11+ and Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data). • Proven experience with microservices architecture and large-scale distributed systems. • Strong database design and query optimization skills in MS SQL / T-SQL, including stored procedures. • Proven track record with Apache Kafka for real-time messaging and event-driven architecture. • Solid front-end development experience with React, Angular, or Vue. • Practical, hands-on experience utilizing Claude / AI tools. • Deep knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). • Solid grounding in CI/CD pipelines, application security, and telemetry/observability. • Eligible visas: H1B, H4 EAD, GC, GC EAD, USC.
