Role & Company / Project Overview: Nokia is seeking a Principal Optical Architect (Requisition #38884) in Sunnyvale and San Jose, California. This senior technical role will define and lead the optical architecture for next-generation optical networking systems and photonic integrated circuits. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Define end-to-end optical system architecture, link budgets, and component-level specifications for optical networking solutions. • Guide optical roadmap strategies incorporating Silicon Photonics, III-V components, and advanced PIC designs. • Evaluate emerging optical technologies, perform system-level simulations, and drive technological differentiation. • Collaborate with hardware, test, and system development teams to lead product development from concept to commercialization. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Established expertise in Optical Architecture & Product Development for telecom/datacom networks. • Deep technical mastery of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC), Silicon Photonics, and Optical Communications & Networking. • Proven track record of architecting high-performance optical communication systems.
