Role & Company / Project Overview: V-Soft Consulting is seeking a hands-on, experienced Microservices Technical Lead (SQL Server and .NET) for a large-scale modernization initiative in the Transportation and Tolling Modernization industry. This initiative focuses on transforming a legacy tolling platform into a modern, scalable microservices-based ecosystem for state government operations. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Lead technical execution and architecture for a major legacy tolling platform modernization • Architect and implement scalable microservices solutions utilizing SQL Server and .NET/C# technologies • Drive application modernization and data migration initiatives to Azure cloud infrastructure • Configure, manage, and optimize Azure SQL on IaaS VM environments and Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines • Oversee ETL development, data pipeline design, and data migration workflows • Guide development teams through Agile/Scrum delivery cadences, sprint planning, and code reviews Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 10+ years of overall IT industry experience • 7+ years of dedicated SQL Server development experience • 5+ years of .NET/C# backend software development experience • 3+ years of experience acting in a Technical Lead capacity • Proven experience delivering application modernization and migration projects • Hands-on experience working with Azure SQL on IaaS VM environments • Hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory (ADF) • Demonstrated expertise in ETL design and data migration strategies • Proven track record in Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies • State government project experience is required • Open to local candidates only Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Work Mode: Hybrid (1 day onsite per week) • Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States • Engagement Duration: 12+ Months Contract (with possible extension) Application Instructions: Interested local candidates are requested to send their updated resumes to the specified recruiter email address.
