Hometown Animal Hospital/All Pets Dental Clinic is looking to fill an opening for a Veterinary Assistant with potential for growth. This is an NVA owned & AAHA accredited general practice/dental referral clinic located in Weston, Florida. A Veterinary Assistant works side-by-side with the doctor to provide care and treatment to patients. They generate treatment plans as recommended by the doctor, present them to clients, and explain necessity and value. The assistant helps maintain the doctor's schedule, handles client communication, transcribes notes, and assists with treatments. Excellent communication skills and commitment to outstanding client service are essential. Strong reading, writing and math skills are required. Both full-time and part-time applications are welcomed. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care (administering vaccines, drawing blood, placing catheters, nail trims, cleaning ears), creating treatment plans in Avimark, collecting specimens, performing basic lab work, taking x-rays, client relations, updating patient medical records, ensuring client satisfaction, and other duties. Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, flexibility in scheduling (including until 7pm and weekend availability), positive attitude, excellent communication skills, prior clinical experience desired, Avimark experience a plus, bilingual applicants welcomed.
