Job description
Role & Company / Project Overview: We are looking for a Flexera SME/Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) programs for client IBM. In this role, you will own the Flexera platform architecture, drive license compliance and cost optimization, and act as a trusted advisor to IT, procurement, finance, and security stakeholders. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Architect, implement, and administer Flexera One / FlexNet Manager Suite (FNMS), including beacons, inventory agents, connectors, and business adapters. • Define and mature ITAM/SAM processes across the hardware and software asset lifecycle (request, procure, deploy, harvest, retire). • Lead license position (ELP) analysis and optimization for major publishers: Microsoft, Oracle, IBM (including ILMT/sub-capacity), SAP, Adobe, VMware, and Red Hat. • Manage vendor audit readiness and defense, and support renewal and true-up negotiations with data-driven insights. • Integrate Flexera with ServiceNow (CMDB/SAM Pro), SCCM/Intune, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and procurement/ERP systems. • Extend into SaaS management and cloud cost optimization (FinOps) using Flexera One. • Ensure data quality through normalization, reconciliation, and entitlement management. • Build dashboards and reports on compliance, risk, and savings for executive stakeholders. • Mentor ITAM analysts and guide governance, policy, and tooling roadmap. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 14+ years in IT Asset Management. • 5+ years hands-on with Flexera. • Deep hands-on expertise with Flexera One and/or FNMS architecture, configuration, and upgrades. • Strong knowledge of software licensing models and metrics (per-core, PVU, user/device, subscription, cloud BYOL). • Proven experience leading enterprise SAM programs and publisher audits. • Solid SQL skills and experience with data integrations/APIs. • Familiarity with ITIL, ISO/IEC 19770, and CMDB best practices. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Flexera certifications; CSAM, CHAMP, or CITAM (IAITAM). • ServiceNow SAM Pro/HAM Pro experience. • FinOps Certified Practitioner. • Consulting or client-facing delivery background. Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Location: US-based. • Work Arrangement: Remote/hybrid with occasional client travel.
