• Role & Company / Project Overview We are hiring a Senior SQL Server DBA / Database Engineering Consultant with 10+ years of experience for an immediate requirement on C2C (Contract / Contract-to-Hire) in the Banking, Financial Services, and Payments domain. This is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity for a database specialist with deep expertise in SQL Server internals, advanced performance tuning, high-concurrency OLTP workloads, and mission-critical financial transaction databases to troubleshoot complex production issues, optimize database performance, design robust HA/DR solutions, and deliver measurable improvements in performance, stability, and scalability. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Diagnose and resolve complex SQL Server performance bottlenecks, blocking, deadlocks, latch contention, and tempdb issues. - Perform advanced performance tuning using execution plans, DMVs, wait statistics, Extended Events, and Query Store. - Develop, optimize, and review complex T-SQL queries and stored procedures. - Optimize indexing, statistics, partitioning, and database configurations for large-scale OLTP environments. - Design, implement, and troubleshoot Always On Availability Groups, SQL Server Replication, and HA/DR solutions. - Manage multi-terabyte databases, data archiving, retention, and large-scale data operations. - Automate database administration and monitoring using PowerShell, T-SQL, and dbatools. - Lead production incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and permanent performance improvement initiatives. - Support database security, audit readiness, and compliance requirements, including PCI-DSS and SOX. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - 10+ Years of relevant experience. - Must-Have Technical Skills: SQL Server 2016–2022 internals and advanced performance engineering; Advanced T-SQL, stored procedure optimization, and execution plan analysis; High-volume OLTP and multi-terabyte database environments; Blocking, deadlocks, parameter sniffing, latch contention, and tempdb troubleshooting; Query Store, Extended Events, DMVs, and wait-statistics analysis; Table/index partitioning and large-scale database optimization; Always On Availability Groups, SQL Server Replication, and HA/DR; PowerShell automation, Windows Server, and WSFC; Financial services, banking, or payments domain experience. - Good to Have: Azure SQL, Azure/AWS database environments, In-Memory OLTP, columnstore, database DevOps, CI/CD, and DP-300 certification. - Ideal profiles: Senior SQL Server DBAs, Principal DBAs, Database Performance Engineers, and Database Engineering Consultants. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Location: Remote / Hybrid. - Travel: Must be available to travel to Miami or Northern California for 1–2 weeks. - Country: United States. • Compensation & Benefits - Contract / Contract-to-Hire engagement (C2C). • Application Instructions - Interested candidates should apply by submitting their profiles to the designated recruiting contact.
