Job description

Role & Company / Project Overview: SB4 Construction is an Oswestry-based main contractor delivering commercial, hospitality, industrial, and renewable projects from concept to completion. Projects range from hotel refurbishments and restaurant fit-outs to industrial units and renewable energy schemes, with values from £150,000 to £10 million plus across nationwide sites. The company is hiring a permanent, full-time Estimator based at SB4 Construction HQ in Oswestry, reporting directly to the Operations Director. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Produce accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications • Price tenders and budgets across groundworks, steelwork, fit-out, and wider build packages • Prepare and price Bills of Quantities • Send out, chase, and compare subcontractor and supplier enquiries • Flag risks, exclusions, and assumptions early in the process • Put forward value engineering options that protect the design intent • Hand won projects to delivery with a clear, well-documented estimate • Conduct necessary site visits across nationwide projects Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Proven groundworks estimating experience • Proven steelwork estimating experience • Strong team player capabilities, working well with colleagues, clients, consultants, and subcontractors • Openness to using digital systems, including estimating software and structured digital processes • Competence in Microsoft Office applications • Full UK driving licence required for site visits • Real plus: Experience pricing internal fit-outs, ideally within hospitality or commercial sectors Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Working Hours: Permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday • Location: SB4 Construction HQ, Unit 7A, Maesbury Road Industrial Estate, Oswestry, Shropshire SY10 8HA, with site visits expected Compensation & Benefits: • Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 per year, dependent on experience • Varied work across hospitality, commercial, industrial, and renewable schemes • A close-knit team environment where estimates directly shape what is won and delivered Application Instructions: • Send your CV and a short note detailing your groundworks and steelwork estimating experience via email or telephone, or apply via LinkedIn or Indeed.
