Due to continued growth and an increasing order book, our client, a well-established groundworks and landscaping contractor based in Bedfordshire, is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist contractor delivering projects ranging from £100k to £1.2m, with the opportunity to take ownership of projects from inception through to final account. Working within a small and supportive commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the commercial function across multiple projects and supporting successful project delivery. This is a hands-on position that goes beyond traditional quantity surveying and will see you working closely with Contracts Managers, suppliers and site teams. Key Responsibilities include managing commercial aspects, preparing valuations, variations, CVRs and final accounts, procurement, supporting Contracts Managers, identifying risks and opportunities, managing costs, and building relationships. Ideal candidate has 4-5+ years of Quantity Surveying experience, experience in groundworks, landscaping, civil engineering, roofing, waterproofing or specialist subcontracting, strong commercial awareness, and knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts. Office-based with hybrid working (2-3 days per week in the office).
