Role & Company / Project Overview: Katalyst Pro is seeking an experienced Functional Safety Lead / Senior Functional Safety Engineer to lead the technical execution of functional safety activities throughout the product development lifecycle for high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in ISO 26262, hardware safety engineering, functional safety analysis, and automotive product development. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Lead and maintain functional safety work products in accordance with ISO 26262 throughout the complete product development lifecycle. • Perform Functional Safety Analysis (FuSA), including Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA), Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). • Utilize Ansys Medini and Microsoft Excel to conduct functional safety analyses and thoroughly document results. • Perform Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) utilizing Mathcad and Microsoft Excel. • Prepare comprehensive design documentation, Bills of Materials (BOMs), test plans, component selections, and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) cost optimization deliverables. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 6+ years of specialized experience in Automotive Functional Safety. • Strong hands-on experience executing ISO 26262 functional safety activities and delivering work products. • Demonstrated proficiency in using Ansys Medini, Microsoft Excel, and Mathcad for safety and circuit analysis. • Proven background in hardware design, safety analysis, testing, and end-to-end product development. • In-depth knowledge of high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems and hardware safety lifecycle activities. Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Location: Lake Orion, Michigan, United States. • Onsite automotive engineering environment.
