Seeking an AutoCAD Operator / Mechanical Draftsman with structural steel fabrication experience to convert structural engineering drawings into shop drawings, GA drawings, BOMs, and CNC-ready files for PEB and hot-rolled steel projects. The role serves as the link between engineering and fabrication. Key Responsibilities: Prepare fabrication/shop drawings for structural steel works including columns, beams, trusses, bracing, stairs, platforms, and base plates in accordance with project specifications and AISC standards. Produce and maintain accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings, layouts, revisions, and as-built drawings. Generate BOMs, cutting lists, bolt schedules, welding details, and material take-offs. Detail PEB components such as main frames, purlins, girts, bracing systems, and end walls. Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, and site teams to resolve drawing queries and revisions. Prepare DXF/DWG files for CNC/plasma cutting; Tekla or Advance Steel knowledge is an advantage. Ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 welding standards, bolt specifications, and local authority requirements. Support estimating and quotation activities through material quantity take-offs. Requirements: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or related field. Minimum 3 years' experience in structural steel fabrication detailing. Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, including layers, blocks, XREFs, and annotations. Able to read and interpret structural, PEB, and GA drawings. Good English communication; basic Arabic preferred. Hindi/Urdu is an advantage. Preferred Qualifications: Basic knowledge of Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, or SDS/2. Shop-floor exposure to cutting, welding, and fabrication processes. Familiarity with Bahrain Building Code/Benayat requirements. Experience with PEB suppliers such as Zamil, Kirloskar, Multimetal, or similar systems.
