Role & Company / Project Overview Wavestone Germany AG is looking for a Senior ICT Security Architect (m/w/d) specializing in Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) (Ref.Nr.: 47929) for a long-term project. Wavestone is a leading management consultancy supporting clients through strategic and digital transformations, offering project opportunities and assignments to specialized freelancers and partner organizations. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties • Conceive, structure, and implement an enterprise-wide Cryptographic Inventory, capturing where RSA, ECC, DH, and other cryptographic procedures are utilized across applications, infrastructure, networks, and products • Evaluate and deploy discovery methodologies and tools, consolidating data from CMDB, code scans, network scans, certificate inventories, SBOM/CBOM, cloud assets, and vendor data • Analyze and document central technical cryptographic use cases, including TLS/mTLS, PKI, code signing, document signatures, VPN, SSH, HSM/KMS, APIs, messaging, and data encryption • Assess the PQC readiness of libraries, operating systems, network appliances, HSMs, cloud services, and vendor solutions, evaluating support for ML-KEM and ML-DSA standards • Develop pilot architectures, prototypes, and technical test implementations (e.g., PQC or hybrid TLS, PKI and certificate lifecycle workflows, signature use cases) • Design reusable patterns, architectural guidelines, reference implementations, technical migration standards, and migration patterns to enable consistent PQC adoption by application, platform, and infrastructure teams • Identify and document technical dependencies and migration blockers relating to vendor roadmaps, protocol constraints, performance impact, key/certificate sizes, HSM support, and legacy systems Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience • Multiple years of experience as a Security/Cryptography Architect within large-scale IT environments at senior level (5 to 8 years) • In-depth expertise in PKI, TLS/mTLS, HSM/KMS, digital certificates, electronic signatures, as well as network and API security • Proven track record in designing crypto and key management architectures, and conducting technical analyses across infrastructure, application, and cloud use cases • Demonstrated ability to methodically and technically architect an enterprise cryptographic inventory and PQC readiness assessment in cross-functional collaboration • German language skills at C1 level • English language skills at C1 level Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details • Start Date: 23.11.2026 • Duration: 23.11.2026 – 29.02.2028 • Workload: 100% • Location: Canton of Zürich, Switzerland (Client context mentions Bern/Zürich) • Remote details: Partial remote available; onsite presence days per week subject to client coordination Application Instructions Apply via the official job portal link or contact the Wavestone point of contact.
