### Role & Company / Project Overview Synstack Technologies is seeking an experienced Packet Core Engineer to support advanced 4G/5G mobile core network environments. This position is 100% remote and open to candidates based anywhere in the USA or Canada. The role requires solid core network domain expertise paired with practical cloud orchestration and deployment skills. ### Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties • Manage and integrate 5G Standalone (SA) and 4G packet core network functions including AMF, SMF, UPF, and PCF. • Oversee mobility management, gateway functions, network slicing, and QoS policies. • Handle core network protocols such as GTPv2, GTP-U, HTTP/2 (SBI), and Diameter. • Author and execute technical documentation including HLD, LLD, CIQ, and MOP. • Execute bare-metal, VNF, and CNF deployments utilizing OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, and VMware. • Perform ATP, pre/post-maintenance health checks, and end-to-end service validation. • Troubleshoot network faults and signaling issues using Wireshark and deep log analysis. • Build automation scripts and routines with Python, Bash, and Ansible. • Communicate project progress and technical status reports clearly to clients. • Participate in and support off-hours maintenance windows as needed. ### Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience • Comprehensive expertise in Packet Core, 5G SA architectures, AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, and mobility management. • In-depth knowledge of GTPv2, GTP-U, HTTP/2 (Service-Based Interfaces), Diameter, network slicing, and QoS. • Proven hands-on experience deploying VNFs and CNFs on Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, or VMware. • Automation and scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, and Ansible. • Advanced protocol analysis and packet capture troubleshooting skills using Wireshark. • Excellent client-facing communication skills. ### Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details • Location: 100% Remote (Candidates anywhere across the USA and Canada). • Shifts: Regular business hours with availability for scheduled maintenance windows. ### Compensation & Benefits • Compensation details are not provided (Contract, C2C, W2, or full-time roles available). ### Application Instructions • Please submit your resume directly via email to the designated recruiter.
