Role & Company / Project Overview: We are actively seeking an experienced Observability Engineer with strong expertise in New Relic, OpenTelemetry, AWS, and SRE best practices to join a growing team and lead enterprise-scale observability initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to work on modern cloud-native observability platforms and drive monitoring transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Lead enterprise-scale observability initiatives across modern cloud environments. • Deploy, configure, and maintain New Relic (APM, Infrastructure, NRQL, Dashboards, Alerts, Logs, Synthetics). • Implement and deploy OpenTelemetry at scale. • Drive monitoring transformation and migration initiatives from Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki to New Relic. • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. • Write automation scripts using Python and Bash. • Maintain monitoring for database environments including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB Atlas, and Neptune. • Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles (SLI/SLO, MTTR, Golden Signals). Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 7–8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud, Infrastructure, or Observability. • Proven hands-on production experience with New Relic. • Demonstrable experience implementing OpenTelemetry at scale. • Successful track record migrating from Datadog/Prometheus/Grafana to New Relic. • Strong AWS and containerized environment expertise (EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3, Step Functions, CloudWatch, Docker, Linux). • Solid expertise with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code. • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting. • Deep understanding of SRE concepts including SLI/SLO, MTTR, and Golden Signals.
