### Role & Company / Project Overview Resource Corner IT is seeking an experienced Lead Security Engineer – Firewall Engineer for a full-time / lateral engagement in Sydney, Australia. The role entails supporting enterprise firewall provisioning, security governance, audit compliance, and operational troubleshooting across a large-scale network environment. ### Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties • Perform hands-on provisioning, configuration, and operational management of Check Point and Fortinet (FortiGate) firewalls. • Handle firewall rule provisioning, policy management, NAT configuration, and network object administration. • Review, assess, and implement firewall access requests and change tasks through ServiceNow. • Manage end-to-end firewall changes, deployments, and ITIL-aligned change approval processes. • Troubleshoot complex firewall connectivity, routing, VPN, and security-related incidents and service issues. • Conduct comprehensive firewall security audits and validate ongoing compliance against corporate security standards. • Maintain detailed technical documentation, network implementation records, change logs, and audit reports. • Collaborate closely with Cyber Security, Network Operations, and Project teams on cross-functional infrastructure initiatives. ### Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience • 5+ years of dedicated professional experience in network security and firewall engineering. • Strong hands-on experience with Check Point and Fortinet (FortiGate) enterprise firewalls. • Strong foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, IP routing, switching, VPN technologies, and enterprise network security architectures. • Practical experience utilizing ServiceNow and following ITIL-based change management workflows. • Telecommunications industry experience is preferred. • Demonstrated experience in firewall governance, security audits, and regulatory compliance is an advantage. • Industry certifications such as Check Point CCSA/CCSE, Fortinet NSE, CCNP Security, or CISSP are highly desirable. • Candidates must possess valid Australian work rights; no visa sponsorship will be provided. ### Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details • Job Type: Full-Time / Lateral • Duration: 8 Months • Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ### Application Instructions Eligible candidates holding valid Australian work rights are invited to apply directly with an updated resume.
