Job description
Role & Company / Project Overview: We are working with an early-stage Biotech / Life Sciences AI company building foundational data and reasoning infrastructure to transform how biological research is conducted. Their platform brings together complex scientific data into a unified, queryable knowledge layer, enabling scientists and AI agents to retrieve highly specific information and work with large-scale biological datasets. This is an opportunity to transform fragmented scientific data into a unified, queryable knowledge layer, work at the intersection of AI, Biotech, and Life Sciences, and solve real-world problems with high impact. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Own the architecture, infrastructure, security, and scalability of the core data platform. • Design and build data pipelines, APIs, microservices, and storage layers. • Work with knowledge graphs and vector search for AI agents. • Architect high-concurrency services using Go and Python. • Build secure execution environments for AI workloads. • Own cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible). • Set engineering standards and mentor the team. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 5+ years of experience in backend, platform, or distributed systems. • Strong Go and/or Python experience. • Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure. • Strong understanding of security architecture. • Experience with CI/CD and observability. • Proven experience owning architectural decisions. • Experience in Biotech, Life Sciences, or scientific data systems is a plus. Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Location: San Francisco, California. • Work arrangement: Fully On-site. Compensation & Benefits: • Base Salary: $220,000 - $300,000. • Equity: 1% - 2%.
