Job description
Role & Company / Project Overview: IOI Acidchem Sdn Bhd (IOI Oleochemical) is seeking a qualified Chemist (Quality Control ACM I) to join the Quality Control team and oversee laboratory operations. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Manage and ensure the smooth operation of daily Quality Control (QC) activities • Conduct final review and release of products that meet approved specifications and regulatory expectations • Implement and maintain document control related to the Quality Management System and ISO 17025 system in the QC Laboratory • Assist production in troubleshooting product quality-related issues, product development, and plant continuous improvement projects • Responsible for the implementation of S/4HANA and handling of new specification code creation and approval • Lead new test method development, method validation/verification, and troubleshooting • Handle and investigate customer complaints issued to the QC Department • Liaise with Quality Assurance (QA), Production, and other departments to communicate quality issues and facilitate decision-making Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or equivalent discipline • Minimum 2 years of working experience in chemical testing or a QC laboratory environment preferred • Registered chemist with IKM (Institut Kimia Malaysia) or certified food analyst • Working knowledge and experience in ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, GMP Q7, and ISO 17025 preferred • Knowledge and experience in SAP (including S/4HANA), laboratory instrumentation troubleshooting, and analytical method development & validation preferred Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Location: Prai, Penang, Malaysia (IOI Acidchem Sdn Bhd) • Onsite plant laboratory facility Compensation & Benefits: • Remuneration package based on experience and company standards Application Instructions: • Interested applicants should forward an updated CV via email or contact human resources via phone
