Role & Company / Project Overview: Global IT Con. LLC is hiring an experienced Embedded Software Engineer for a contract role in Philadelphia, PA. - Duration: 6–12 months Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: - Design and develop embedded software using C and C++. - Work with MCU and peripheral programming, including startup code and linker scripts. - Implement and integrate RTOS and Embedded Linux solutions. - Configure and debug communication interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, USB, and CAN. - Automate workflows using Python scripting and integrate into CI/CD pipelines. - Perform hardware/software debugging using JTAG, GDB, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: - 4–6 years of hands-on embedded software development experience. - Strong expertise in C and working proficiency in C++. - Production experience with Zephyr, FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or similar RTOS. - Strong MCU/peripheral knowledge, including startup code and linker scripts. - Embedded Linux and RTOS/Linux integration experience (Yocto/Embedded Linux). - Networking and interfaces: UART, SPI, I2C, USB, CAN. - Python scripting/automation and CI/CD experience. - Hands-on debugging experience with JTAG, GDB, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
