Role & Company / Project Overview: Technoval Alliance is seeking an experienced Senior PostgreSQL DBA & Engineer for an exciting opportunity with a client in the technology and data engineering space. We are looking for a skilled professional with strong PostgreSQL database administration, engineering, performance optimization, cloud database, and data integration experience. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale PostgreSQL databases and scalable data models • Develop and optimize complex SQL and PL/pgSQL queries, stored procedures, and views • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement indexing strategies • Manage replication, high availability, backups, recovery, failover, and disaster recovery • Build and support ETL/ELT pipelines, Kafka integrations, CDC, and real-time data processing • Collaborate with development teams on APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications • Implement database security, governance, auditing, and compliance controls • Support cloud database environments and infrastructure automation Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 5+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL development, administration, and engineering experience • Strong database design, data modeling, schema design, partitioning, and scalability expertise • Advanced SQL and PL/pgSQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, and materialized views • Expertise in performance tuning, indexing (B-Tree, GIN, GiST, BRIN, Hash), VACUUM optimization, and execution plan analysis • Experience with high availability, replication, failover, and disaster recovery • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, Kafka, CDC, and data integrations • Proficiency in Python, Java, or Bash, with experience supporting APIs and microservices • Cloud database experience with AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or Google Cloud SQL • Knowledge of RBAC, encryption, auditing, PHI/PII protection, and data governance Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Location: 100% Remote • Working Hours: EST/CST working hours required • Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire Application Instructions: • Please share your updated resume to discuss this opportunity.
