Job description

• Role & Company / Project Overview We are looking for an experienced exploration leader to drive gold exploration and resource development for a major mining project in West Africa (Mauritania). The role will spearhead technical exploration strategies, field campaigns, and geological development to expand the project's mineral asset base. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Lead gold exploration programmes, target generation, and resource discovery. - Manage geological mapping, exploration drilling, and geological interpretation. - Oversee RC (Reverse Circulation) and Diamond Drilling programmes, sampling, and QA/QC protocols. - Support Mineral Resource Estimation and technical project development studies. - Manage multidisciplinary exploration teams, drilling contractors, operational budgets, and field operations. - Ensure full compliance with international reporting standards and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Degree in Geology, Applied Geology, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification preferred. - 15–25 years of relevant gold exploration experience. - Proven Greenfield exploration and resource development expertise. - Hands-on experience with geological modelling software such as Leapfrog, Micromine, Surpac, or Datamine. - In-depth knowledge of JORC, NI 43-101, or equivalent international mineral reporting standards. - African gold exploration experience, particularly in West Africa, will be an advantage. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Location: Mauritania, West Africa. - Work environment: Onsite field operations and mining exploration site. • Compensation & Benefits - Competitive executive mining package commensurate with senior industry experience. • Application Instructions - Interested candidates may share their updated CV directly with the recruitment coordinator via email.
