Job description
Role & Company / Project Overview: Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (SCIB) is hiring a Quantity Surveyor (QS) based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This position involves managing cost planning, procurement, contractual obligations, and tender negotiations within the construction industry. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Cost planning and preparing feasibility studies. • Prepare preliminary cost estimate prior to construction. • Advice on appropriate procurement strategies. • Evaluate tenders and tender negotiations. • Pricing Bills of Quantities. • Assessment of variations. • Advising on economical procedures and contractual disputes. • Administering of tender document submission including tender clarifications. • Measure of quantities from drawings. • Prepare tender documents to subcontractor/vendor for quotations. • Preparation of interim payment, pricing and agreement of contract variations, update claim submissions, and preparation of final accounts. • Prepare/verification/upkeep of project variation work and site instructions. • Establish database for costs, materials, and supply source. • Perform other quantity surveying related duties as assigned and any other tasks as and when assigned by the Management. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Possess a Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in the construction industry. • Proficient in Microsoft Office; proficiency in QS software is an advantage. • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English. • Good analytical, communication, and teamwork skills with positive work attitude. • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Location: Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. • On-site construction project operations.
