Job description
Role & Company / Project Overview: We are hiring an experienced IWD UI/Accessibility Expert - Front-End Tech Lead to lead front-end engineering, establish technical standards, and drive accessibility compliance for a government technology project. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Lead front-end engineering initiatives and establish rigorous technical standards • Drive digital accessibility compliance across front-end systems • Implement design systems, preferably USWDS • Conduct accessibility testing and ensure full compliance • Work hands-on with automated accessibility tools, screen readers, and keyboard navigation • Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines and front-end deployment workflows • Mentor developers and drive front-end engineering best practices Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 9+ years of overall experience, with 8+ years of front-end engineering or technical leadership experience • Formal accessibility certification required: CPACC, WAS, or equivalent • Expert knowledge of Angular, SASS, and HTML • Experience implementing design systems, preferably USWDS • Strong understanding of WCAG 2.2 AA and accessibility testing methodologies • Hands-on experience with automated accessibility tools, screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), and keyboard navigation • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and front-end deployment workflows • Proven experience mentoring developers and driving engineering best practices • Preferred: Experience with Section 508 and Title I/Title II accessibility requirements • Preferred: Government or public-sector project experience • Preferred: Familiarity with enterprise-scale front-end architectures and component libraries • Preferred: Experience with technical documentation and secure development practices Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Location: Iowa (100% Remote, but candidate must be local to Iowa) • Work arrangement: Remote Application Instructions: Interested candidates who meet the location and qualification requirements are encouraged to apply by submitting their profiles.
