• Role & Company / Project Overview We are looking for an experienced UI/Accessibility Expert and Front-End Tech Lead to lead front-end development, establish engineering standards, and ensure accessibility compliance for a public-sector project. This is an 8-month remote contract opportunity for local candidates based in Des Moines, Iowa. Interview will be conducted via Web Cam or In-Person. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Lead front-end development using Angular, SASS, and HTML. - Establish architecture, coding standards, and front-end best practices. - Implement U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and State Design System standards. - Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508, and Title I/Title II accessibility requirements. - Conduct accessibility testing using automated tools, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and manual keyboard navigation. - Lead code reviews, mentor developers, and improve CI/CD pipelines. - Collaborate with Java backend teams on API integration. - Maintain technical documentation and follow government security standards. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - 8+ years of experience as a Front-End Tech Lead or Senior Front-End Engineer. - 8+ years of hands-on experience with Angular, SASS, and HTML. - Strong experience implementing design systems; USWDS experience preferred. - Formal accessibility certification: CPACC, WAS, or equivalent. - Extensive hands-on accessibility testing experience. - Strong understanding of CI/CD, front-end deployment workflows, and engineering best practices. - Experience mentoring developers, collaborating with backend teams, and creating technical documentation. - Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Section 508 and Title I/Title II compliance; government or public-sector project experience; experience with enterprise-scale front-end architectures and component libraries; experience defining engineering standards, process improvements, runbooks, and technical documentation. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Location: Des Moines, Iowa (Local candidates only). - Work Mode: Remote. - Duration: 8 Months contract. • Application Instructions Interested candidates who meet the local requirement and qualifications are invited to apply by submitting an updated resume.
