Role & Company / Project Overview: We are seeking a strategic, high-calibre Enterprise Application Architect (FSD) to drive long-term technical roadmaps and architectural excellence across our organization. In this senior leadership role, you will not be bogged down by daily team delivery. Instead, you will act as a premier consultant, facilitator, and trusted advisor—partnering with Principal Engineers, Engineering Managers, and business stakeholders across multiple cross-functional teams to keep application architecture consistent, scalable, and secure. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Architectural Vision: Define, maintain, and execute the multi-year technical roadmap and technology standards for full-stack applications across all engineering domains. • System Governance & Landscape: Document and maintain the enterprise applications landscape, including system inventories, integration maps, complex data flows, and dependency diagrams. • Standards Facilitation: Drive cross-team alignment on architectural standards (API design, service boundaries, frontend/backend conventions, and shared library strategies) through collaboration rather than top-down mandates. • Design Review & Mentorship: Partner closely with Principal and Technical Lead engineers to review major design proposals, ensuring consistency with enterprise architecture and long-term maintainability. • Integration Design: Architect and govern secure integration patterns between full-stack applications and core enterprise systems using REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and microservices boundaries. • Technology Evaluation: Continuous evaluation of emerging technologies, frameworks, and cloud capabilities (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), balancing cost, scalability, security, and team capability. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Around 15 years of software engineering experience, with significant time spent designing and scaling complex, distributed full-stack systems. • Deep, authoritative expertise in JavaScript, React, and Node.js, complemented by a strong understanding of modern cloud architectures and data stores. • Proven track record of defining engineering standards, technology roadmaps, or system design guidelines across multiple enterprise teams. • Strong documentation mastery, including systems landscape diagrams, high-availability patterns, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs). • Exceptional stakeholder communication, with the ability to influence engineering leaders and business executives as a peer consultant rather than through direct authority.
