• Role & Company / Project Overview: We are partnering with a respected higher education institution to appoint an experienced Head of Research & Internationalisation to lead its institutional research strategy, strengthen its academic research profile, and drive meaningful national and international research collaborations. This is an exciting senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished academic and research professional who is passionate about advancing scholarship, developing research capacity, and positioning an institution as a recognised contributor to the higher education landscape. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: - Develop and implement an institution-wide research strategy, driving academic scholarship, innovation, and research excellence. - Strengthen the institution's research profile through publications, strategic partnerships, and measurable research impact. - Lead academic staff research development, mentorship, and capacity-building initiatives. - Oversee research ethics, governance, and compliance, including leadership of the institutional Research Ethics Committee. - Develop and drive an internationalisation strategy, establishing partnerships with international universities, research institutions, and funding bodies. - Promote collaborative research, academic exchange, and international funding opportunities. - Contribute to institutional academic leadership, teaching, and postgraduate research supervision. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: - A Doctoral qualification (PhD or equivalent) is essential. - An established research track record, including peer-reviewed publications and demonstrated research leadership. - Experience developing and implementing institutional research strategies within higher education. - Strong understanding of research governance, ethics committees, compliance, and academic quality assurance. - Proven experience in academic leadership, research capacity development, and cross-faculty collaboration. - Experience establishing research partnerships and engaging with national and international academic stakeholders. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: - Location: Cape Town, South Africa. • Compensation & Benefits: - Remuneration: R900,000 per annum + Benefits + Annual Performance Bonuses. • Application Instructions: - Reach out to Jaco Barnard with your CV and credentials via the provided contact details.
