Role & Company / Project Overview Wavestone Germany AG is seeking a Senior Applikations-Entwickler (m/w/d) - Java / Spring Boot / Angular / Dokumentenmanagement for a long-term project with a client based in Bern (with remote share). Wavestone is a leading consulting company for strategic transformations, offering comprehensive perspectives across projects and staffing project vacancies. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties • Develop and operate a modern document management platform to support sales and customer processes • Assume end-to-end responsibility for existing document management microservices based on Spring Boot and Java, covering conception, implementation, testing, and deployment • Conceptualize and implement forward-looking solutions using Spring, Java, and Angular • Gather, analyze, and optimally implement business requirements together with business engineering, business departments, and sales units, as well as advise internal customers and stakeholders on document management, integrations, and process optimization • Help shape the strategic direction and ongoing development of the document management landscape, such as in automation, self-services, and API-first approaches • Ensure stability, performance, and security of services in ongoing operations, handling monitoring, logging, and incident management • Participate in architecture reviews and technical decision-making processes, including API design, event architectures, and integration into existing system landscapes • Ensure code quality and maintainability through code reviews, pair programming, refactoring, unit and integration tests, and CI/CD pipelines Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience Mandatory Requirements: • Senior profile with 5 to 8 years of professional experience in application development • Very good knowledge of Java and the Spring framework, especially Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Security • Experience with modern web and UI technologies, specifically Node.js, TypeScript, and Angular, as well as in developing and maintaining high-performance, maintainable single-page applications • In-depth experience with modern software development methodologies, particularly clean code, design patterns, test automation, and code reviews • Very good Linux knowledge, especially in the secure use of shell, file systems, permissions, and fundamental operating system tools • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL, data modeling, and OR mappers like JPA/Hibernate • Strong understanding of data integration and interfaces, specifically XML, XSD, JSON, and REST • Experience in developing distributed systems and microservices, including resilience, observability, versioning, and interface contracts • Basic understanding of core security principles in software development, particularly OWASP Top 10, secure authentication and authorization, and encryption • Experience with agile working methods such as Scrum or Kanban • Experience in collaborating with different business departments and interdisciplinary teams • Strong analytical thinking, a structured and solution-oriented work approach, and fundamental knowledge of data structures and algorithms • German language skills at level B2 and English language skills at level B2 Nice-to-Have Requirements: • Practical experience with Kubernetes in hybrid on-premises and cloud environments • Practical experience with DevOps practices, particularly continuous integration and delivery, monitoring, and build/deployment automation • Experience with scaled agile frameworks such as SAFe Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details • Assignment period: 04.01.2027 to 31.12.2027 • Workload: 100% • Location: Zürich (Kanton Zürich), Switzerland; on-site presence requirement and remote share to be clarified Compensation & Benefits • Not specified Application Instructions • Apply through the official job posting link or contact the Wavestone recruiting contact directly via the designated contact channels.
