Job description

Role & Company / Project Overview Immediate contractual requirement on C2C for a Mainframe System z HCD Specialist. The role involves working with subcontractor Pellera. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties • Manage and execute HCD (Hardware Configuration Definition) and HCM (Hardware Configuration Manager) tasks • Handle IODF, IOCP, and IOCDS configurations • Implement dynamic I/O configuration • Manage FICON and ESCON connectivity and architecture • Configure storage and peripheral devices • Oversee I/O subsystem management • Perform in-depth mainframe troubleshooting • Collaborate across storage, network, and systems programming functions • Maintain strict change management protocols and technical documentation • Drive problem-solving and issue resolution across the mainframe environment Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience • Proficient in IBM z/OS and IBM System z / zSeries • Deep expertise in HCD (Hardware Configuration Definition) and HCM (Hardware Configuration Manager) • Extensive experience with IODF, IOCP, and IOCDS • Proven experience with Dynamic I/O Configuration • Solid knowledge of FICON and ESCON • Strong background in Storage and Device Configuration • Hands-on expertise in I/O Subsystem Management • Mainframe Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Solid understanding of Storage, Network, and Systems Programming • Strong grasp of Change Management and technical documentation • IBM Certified Systems Programmer credential is preferred • Eligibility: US Citizen only Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details • Location: Remote • Engagement type: C2C contract Compensation & Benefits • Not specified Application Instructions • Interested candidates are requested to reply back via email.
