Job description
• Role & Company / Project Overview We are hiring a Design Engineer (Electrical Energy Systems) to help deliver PV + BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) projects across Africa. The position offers real responsibility, international exposure, and fast progression working with solar photovoltaic generation, utility grid integration, and battery energy storage technologies. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Deliver electrical engineering design for integrated Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. - Work on electrical architecture including solar PV arrays, PV inverters (DC/AC), bidirectional power conversion systems (PCS), transformers (11/33 kV or as per site specifications), switchgear, circuit breakers, and AC/DC busbars. - Interface with Energy Management Systems (EMS) controlling and optimising energy charging and discharging. - Interface with Battery Management Systems (BMS) for cell-level monitoring including voltage, current, temperature, and State of Charge (SOC). - Incorporate thermal management systems to maintain suitable battery operating temperatures. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Background in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related discipline. - Working knowledge of electrical energy systems, PV generation, BESS components, and grid connection frameworks. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Projects located across Africa. • Compensation & Benefits - Fast progression, real responsibility, and international exposure. • Application Instructions - Apply directly by sending your application to the designated contact email.
