• Role & Company / Project Overview: A leading energy infrastructure organisation is delivering major high-voltage and renewable energy projects across Australia, including substations, HV infrastructure, grid connections, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). We are seeking an experienced Engineer with Design Management expertise, a Design Manager, or a Lead Engineer (HV Substations) to take end-to-end technical leadership across project design and delivery. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: - Lead End-to-End Design: Take technical ownership of HV substation projects from early pre-sales through to construction, testing, commissioning, and energisation. - Pre-Sales and Constructability Input: Partner with tender teams to shape design scope, technical feasibility, and constructability. - Multidisciplinary Coordination: Integrate civil, structural, primary, and secondary/protection disciplines into a cohesive design package. - Partner and Supplier Management: Direct internal engineering teams, external design consultancies, and major OEMs to align technical and procurement goals. - Drive Delivery: Co-own the master design schedule alongside Project Managers to guarantee on-time, high-quality execution. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. - Experience: 5+ years of relevant engineering background with deep exposure to HV substation design (132kV and above). - Leadership & Title: Proven background as a Design Manager, Lead Engineer, or established Engineer with demonstrated Design Management experience leading design teams and external consultancies. - Standards Expertise: Deep understanding of substation engineering standards, utility grid connection guidelines, and technical specifications. - Stakeholder Skills: Excellent communication skills to interface smoothly between technical specialists, client representatives, and executive management. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: - Location: Australia. - Full-time engineering leadership position. • Compensation & Benefits: - Competitive salary package aligned with experience in major renewable and transmission infrastructure delivery. • Application Instructions: - Reach out directly to submit an application or schedule a confidential discussion.
