• Role & Company / Project Overview We are hiring a Senior UK Bookkeeper for a Work From Home (WFH) role. This position is open for Philippine-based applicants only. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Review bookkeeping completed by junior team members and provide constructive feedback. - Review VAT returns before submission. - Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date bookkeeping records. - Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules. - Ensure client records are ready for year-end accounts preparation. - Investigate discrepancies and resolve bookkeeping queries. - Manage the day-to-day delivery of bookkeeping and VAT services for an allocated client portfolio. - Respond to client queries professionally and promptly. - Support, mentor, and train junior team members. - Improve bookkeeping workflows, templates, and internal controls. - Identify opportunities to use technology, automation, and AI to improve efficiency. - Help implement software improvements and maintain consistent working standards. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - At least 4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience. - Experience working with UK clients. - Experience working in a UK accountancy practice. - Excellent knowledge of Xero. - Strong understanding of UK VAT. - Previous experience reviewing bookkeeping work completed by others. - Experience preparing client records for year-end accounts. - Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. - Strong written and spoken English communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively. - A proactive approach to process improvement and technology adoption. - Nice to have: Experience managing a portfolio of clients across different industries. - Nice to have: Familiarity with Dext, Hubdoc, Apron, or similar document management tools. - Nice to have: Knowledge of UK payroll. - Nice to have: Exposure to workflow or practice management software. - Nice to have: An interest in AI, automation, and accounting technology. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Remote / Work From Home (WFH) for Philippine-based applicants only. • Application Instructions - Send your updated CV with Subject Title: FB - UK Bookkeeper.
