Role & Company / Project Overview: We are hiring an experienced Senior Java Developer / Technology SME with strong hands-on engineering expertise and a solid background in Banking, Financial Services, or Capital Markets. This role is an 8-month contract based in New York, NY on a hybrid model. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Architect, build, and optimize enterprise-grade microservices and RESTful APIs. • Collaborate on front-end integration utilizing Angular. • Design, manage, and optimize SQL schemas and data models. • Build event-driven messaging pipelines and asynchronous workflows using Kafka or MQ messaging systems. • Develop, deploy, and maintain applications in Cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP). • Implement and maintain DevOps, CI/CD automation pipelines, and robust automated testing suites. • Integrate and leverage cutting-edge AI/GenAI tools (GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI, LangChain, and Agentic AI) to enhance engineering productivity and system intelligence. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 8–10 years of professional software engineering experience. • Proven background in Banking, Financial Services, or Capital Markets. • Core Java: Hands-on expertise with Java 11/17+ and Spring Boot. • Microservices Architecture & REST APIs. • Frontend experience with Angular. • Strong database proficiency with SQL & Data Modeling. • Messaging Technologies: Hands-on experience with Kafka / MQ. • Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. • DevOps & Testing: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing. • Modern AI/GenAI Tooling: Hands-on familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI, LangChain, and Agentic AI.
