Role & Company / Project Overview: A major financial institution in the Netherlands, recruited via SG Talent Solutions, is seeking a Senior Insights Data Scientist. The role focuses on transforming transaction data from millions of customers into automated insights to combat financial crime, money laundering, and terrorist financing. The position sits at the intersection of advanced analytics, software engineering, and core business operations. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Build and improve analytical pipelines that automate rule tuning and support scalable, multi-parameter analysis. • Deliver end-to-end data projects, translating complex business problems into actionable strategic recommendations for stakeholders. • Design and implement production-ready dashboards and decision-support tools for automated tuning and investigation workflows. • Develop analytical models and decision logic to determine customer segments, parameters, and detection rules to prioritize. • Guide, mentor, and share technical vision with junior and mid-level team colleagues. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Master’s degree in a technical discipline. • 7+ years of professional data analysis experience using Python. • Strong hands-on experience with PySpark, Databricks, and Power BI. • Proven track record of building end-to-end solutions utilizing code repositories, version control, automated data pipelines, and testing frameworks. • Exceptional analytical ability to uncover the root questions behind business requests and communicate insights convincingly. • Demonstrated leadership capability in mentoring team members and establishing technical direction.
