Job description

• Role & Company / Project Overview Lefebvre Sdu is part of the Lefebvre Group, the European leader in legal and tax knowledge with over 200 years of experience. We are developing GenIA-L, an intelligent legal research platform where lawyers and tax professionals get dependable, attributable answers backed by trusted sources. Over 75,000 professionals use the platform daily, contributing to more than €100 million ARR across Europe. We are hiring a Senior AI Engineer to give direction to and shape the intelligent multi-agent core of GenIA-L in production. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Direct the agent architecture of GenIA-L, determining which specialized agents are required and orchestrating their interaction. - Break down complex legal processes and translate them into robust technical solutions, deciding optimal component connectivity. - Ensure expert-reviewed knowledge packages (statutory commentary, case law, legislative history) and underlying pipelines scale reliably and remain up to date. - Build and maintain rigorous quality evaluation frameworks using evaluation sets, observability, and metrics to demonstrate measurable gains in accuracy and source attribution. - Prioritize engineering workflows, spot technical or architectural obstacles early, and proactively flag risks. - Explore cutting-edge AI developments, conduct hands-on experiments, and implement production proposals to enhance speed and precision. - Coach and mentor medior engineers while collaborating directly with legal editors and domain experts. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Around 5+ years of extensive experience in software or machine learning engineering, prioritizing project depth over raw tenure. - Realistic, critical view of LLM strengths, weaknesses, and production failure modes. - In-depth mastery of Python and standard machine learning libraries. - Demonstrated track record of deploying and operating LLM applications in production environments. - Solid production experience with agentic frameworks and orchestration tooling (e.g., LangGraph, LangChain, tool calling, MCP or equivalent architectures; basic RAG experience alone is insufficient). - Proven background in establishing quantitative evaluation sets and observability (experience with tools like MLflow or LiteLLM is a plus). - Strong backend capabilities, including building REST APIs and managing Postgres databases. - Hands-on experience with Kubernetes. - Prior domain experience in legal, tax, or other knowledge-intensive fields is a plus. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Full-time schedule based on a standard 36-hour working week. - Hybrid working model: 2 days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) on-site at the office in The Hague (within walking distance of Voorburg station); remote flexibility for the rest of the week. • Compensation & Benefits - Base salary between €5,500 and €6,450 per month (based on 36h/week). - Fixed year-end bonus of 4% plus company profit sharing up to 6%. - Performance bonus up to 10% based on company and individual performance. - 23 vacation days plus a 12% personal choice budget (comprising 8% holiday pay and 4% freely allocable funds, with option to purchase additional leave). - Solid pension plan through PGB including supplementary partner insurance, along with collective health insurance options. - Travel allowance of €0.25 per kilometer or complete public transport reimbursement, plus a company bicycle plan (with adjusted arrangements for commutes <10 km or >60 km). • Application Instructions - Submit your CV; feedback is typically provided within 5 working days. - A reference check and Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) are required as part of the hiring process.
