Job description

• Role & Company / Project Overview Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to join the Artificial Intelligence Research & Innovation (AIRI) team in Lahore. The AIRI team develops and deploys AI systems that power public services for millions of citizens across Punjab, utilizing open-weight LLMs, speech recognition, and semantic search on internal GPU infrastructure. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Own projects end-to-end to build LLM, speech recognition, and information retrieval systems. - Fine-tune, evaluate, and benchmark machine learning models. - Run and manage models reliably in production environments at government scale. - Work with vLLM and Kubernetes for serving and fine-tuning LLMs on internal GPU clusters. - Implement RAG architectures, embeddings, and semantic search across massive administrative datasets. - Develop multilingual AI and speech-to-text capabilities in Urdu and English. - Implement MLOps practices, including model registries, monitoring, and validation. - Deliver production-ready AI features for provincial government services. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Solid experience in taking ML models from research/notebooks to production. - Strong Python programming and machine learning fundamentals (PyTorch, Hugging Face). - Hands-on technical experience with LLMs, NLP, speech recognition, or computer vision is a strong plus. - Passion for engineering AI systems designed for public utility and real users. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Location: Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. - Work setup: Onsite at PITB. • Application Instructions - Submit applications via the Punjab Jobs Portal or email your resume with the role title in the subject line.
