• Role & Company / Project Overview Brilzant is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer based in Johannesburg, South Africa, to build scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud data solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure data services and big data technologies. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Develop and orchestrate data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) - Implement ETL/ELT development, data transformation, and cloud data integration processes - Work with Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, and PySpark for data processing - Utilize Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and OneLake architectures - Write and optimize data transformations using Python and SQL - Design, build, and support Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse solutions utilizing Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2) - Oversee data modeling, data quality management, and data governance practices - Execute performance tuning and pipeline optimization - Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automation with Azure DevOps and Git - Manage data security, monitoring, alerting, and operational troubleshooting • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - 5+ years of hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure data services and data engineering - Proven proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, PySpark, Apache Spark, and Azure Synapse Analytics - Solid experience in Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, ADLS Gen2, Python, and SQL - Deep knowledge of data warehousing, lakehouse architectures, and dimensional modeling - Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and automated deployment pipelines - Eligibility Criterion: Strictly open to South African Citizens Only • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Employment Type: Contract - Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa - Work Mode: Hybrid / Remote • Compensation & Benefits - Contract engagement details as per company standards • Application Instructions - Interested candidates should submit their updated CVs to the designated recruitment email address.
