Job description

Role & Company / Project Overview: SECOPS24 is hiring an F5 WAF Specialist (F5 & Security Tool Administrator) with a strong Application Security (AppSec) and foundational networking background. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Configure, deploy, and maintain F5 BIG-IP and BIG-IQ, and manage F5 Distributed Cloud (XC) for global application delivery and security. • Create, tune, and maintain WAF policies, Bot Defense profiles, and DDoS protection. • Perform patches, upgrades, and health monitoring across F5 platforms. • Troubleshoot traffic management, SSL/TLS, and application availability issues, and drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA). • Maintain configuration documentation and ensure compliance with security standards. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. • Hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP modules: LTM, ASM, AFM, DNS, and APM. • Strong experience with WAF policy tuning, Bot Defense, DDoS mitigation, and IP Intelligence. • Working familiarity with BIG-IQ and F5 Distributed Cloud (XC). • Strong foundational grasp of networking protocols and standards: TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, and SSL/TLS. • Solid understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and Application Security (AppSec) best practices. • Scripting skills in iRules, Python, or Bash. • Good to have: F5 CTS or CSE certification. • Good to have: Cloud integrations (AWS/Azure/GCP) and API-based automation. • Good to have: Exposure to AppSec/CNAPP tools such as Veracode, SonarQube, or Wiz.
