Job description

• Role & Company / Project Overview: We are hiring an Environment Advisor based in Damascus for oil & gas projects, responsible for environmental compliance, assessments, and sustainability management. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: - Maintain compliance registers and ensure adherence to regulations. - Conduct baseline surveys, EIAs/ESIAs, and develop Environmental & Social Management Plans (ESMPs). - Integrate environmental requirements into project design and execution. - Quantify flaring, venting, combustion, and fugitive emissions. - Build greenhouse gas inventories and reduction plans. - Implement LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) programs. - Oversee produced water, drilling fluids, stormwater, and wastewater compliance. - Classify and track waste, including hazardous and NORM materials. - Develop waste minimization and recycling strategies. - Develop spill contingency plans (SPCC/OSCP). - Lead drills, incident investigations, and corrective actions. - Serve as environmental lead during emergencies. - Conduct air, water, soil, noise, and biodiversity monitoring. - Perform site inspections and contractor audits. - Close out nonconformities and track KPIs. - Liaise with regulators and communities. - Support grievance management and access negotiations. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in environmental science or engineering. - Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks. - Experience in environmental management systems, auditing, and compliance reporting. - Analytical, communication, and teamwork skills. - Good command of English language. - Willingness and ability to travel to the field. - Candidates must be of Syrian nationality and residing in Syria. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: - Location: Damascus, Syria, with field travel required. • Application Instructions: - Interested candidates are requested to send their CVs to the designated recruitment contact email.
