### Role & Company / Project Overview Tekskills is hiring a C/C++ Linux Kernel & OpenWRT Engineer for a Contract-to-Hire (C2H) engagement in Chennai. The position requires strong hands-on expertise in C/C++, Linux Kernel, OpenWRT, and Wi-Fi/networking development. ### Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties • Undertake system-level software engineering and live C/C++ programming • Design, build, and maintain OpenWRT features and package creation using OPKG/RPM • Develop and support networking capabilities and Wi-Fi standards implementation • Perform issue triaging, debugging, troubleshooting, and fix management • Implement and support networking protocols including TCP/IP, routing, DHCP, DNS, multicast, and MAP-T • Develop automation scripts for smoke testing, microservices, and REST APIs • Collaborate on source code version control, merging, and branching ### Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience • Experience: 10+ Years • Notice Period: Immediate to 15 Days Only • Mandatory Technical Skills: - Strong hands-on programming experience in C and C++ - Linux Kernel Programming and system-level development - Live C programming and Data Structures - System programming, process management, and IPC - OpenWRT feature development and package creation using OPKG/RPM - Networking and Wi-Fi development - Issue triaging, debugging, troubleshooting, and fix management - Networking protocols: TCP/IP, routing, DHCP, DNS, multicast, and MAP-T - Wi-Fi standards: Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7, AP, hotspot, security, and frequency bands - Git: commit, branch, merge, and rebase - Python, Groovy, BusyBox/ash scripting - REST APIs, microservices, and test automation for smoke testing • Good to Have: - OVS-DB networking database - MongoDB / Redis - CPE, DOCSIS, RDK-B, or native broadband solutions - Telecom / networking domain experience - Cloud platform orchestration and network performance optimization ### Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details • Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India • Work Mode: Hybrid • Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (C2H) • Shift: General Shift | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM • Interview Mode: Face-to-Face (F2F) Only (Mandatory) ### Application Instructions Interested candidates should share their updated resume with the recruitment team including Total experience, Relevant C/C++ and OpenWRT experience, Current location, Notice period / earliest joining date, Current CTC, Expected CTC, and Preferred location.
