Job description

• Role & Company / Project Overview HCLTech is expanding its Mechanical Design team and hosting a Walk-In Drive for a Mechanical Design Engineer position based in Sholinganallur, Chennai. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Perform Solid Modeling, Assembly Modeling, and Bill of Materials (BOM) creation. - Handle large assemblies and execute comprehensive model checks. - Drive concept design and mechanical design development. - Execute sheet metal design, detailing, and optimization. - Create detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing drawings. - Undertake hands-on product design and fixture design. - Apply GD&T standards and work with PLM tools. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Experience: 2.3 to 5 years of relevant experience. - Strong expertise in Solid Modeling, Assembly Modeling, and BOM Creation. - Demonstrated background in handling large assemblies and performing model checks. - Proven experience in concept design and design development. - Strong expertise in sheet metal design and detailing. - Proficiency in creating detailed engineering and manufacturing drawings. - Hands-on experience in product design and fixture design. - Strong working knowledge and practical application of GD&T. - Hands-on experience with PLM tools (Enovia preferred). - Mandatory Tools: Creo, AutoCAD. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Job Location: HCL, Sholinganallur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. - Drive Date: 10-Oct-2026. - Drive Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. - Venue: HCL Technologies Limited Chennai ELCOT SEZ, Sholinganallur, New Cafeteria – 2nd Floor, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600119. • Application Instructions - Drop your resume to the designated HR contact email and complete the online application form prior to attending the walk-in drive.
