• Role & Company / Project Overview HCLTech is expanding its Mechanical Design team and hosting a Walk-In Drive for a Senior Design Engineer position located at Sholinganallur, Chennai. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Lead mechanical design engineering with hands-on expertise in mechanical product development. - Drive sheet metal design, including design optimization for manufacturability. - Develop 3D concepts and generate detailed 2D manufacturing drawings. - Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) and maintain strict engineering drawing standards. - Oversee Engineering Change Order / Engineering Change Request (ECO/ECR) processes and mechanical hardware/component selection. - Mentor engineering teams, establish drawing standards, and champion engineering excellence. - Manage stakeholder communication and interface across engineering teams. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Experience: 6 to 12 years. - Strong background in mechanical design engineering with hands-on mechanical product development expertise. - Proficiency in sheet metal design and design optimization for manufacturability. - Skilled in 3D concept development and creation of detailed 2D manufacturing drawings. - Good understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, welding, and machining. - Experience in BOM preparation, manufacturing drawings, and engineering drawing standards. - Hands-on experience with Windchill or similar Product Data Management (PDM) tools. - Sound knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and manufacturing processes. - Experience with ECO/ECR processes and component selection. - Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills. - Demonstrated ability to mentor teams and establish drawing standards. - Semiconductor (SEMI) industry experience is an added advantage. - Mandatory Tools: Creo, AutoCAD, Windchill/PDM Tools. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Job Location: HCL, Sholinganallur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. - Drive Date: 10-Oct-2026. - Drive Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. - Venue: HCL Technologies Limited Chennai ELCOT SEZ, Sholinganallur, New Cafeteria – 2nd Floor, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600119. • Application Instructions - Drop your resume to the designated recruiter email and fill out the online application form before attending the interview.
