Job description
• Role & Company / Project Overview: We are hiring a skilled L2 Network & Firewall Engineer to join our Security Operations team in the Telecommunications industry on a 6-month temporary contract basis. Immediate start required. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: - Provide Level 2 operational support, troubleshooting, and incident management for network and security services. - Diagnose and resolve complex network and firewall incidents while ensuring SLA compliance. - Configure, manage, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN infrastructure. - Perform firmware upgrades, software patches, and network device lifecycle management. - Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and customers. - Monitor network performance, security logs, and service availability. - Provide timely updates to customers and stakeholders throughout the incident resolution process. - Participate in after-hours, weekend, and public holiday on-call support when required. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: - Hands-on experience in Routing & Switching (Cisco, Meraki, Huawei, HPE Aruba, or equivalent). - Experience in firewall administration, preferably FortiGate, Palo Alto, or Sophos. - Knowledge of VPN technologies (IPSec/SSL VPN), SD-WAN, TCP/IP, and LAN/WAN troubleshooting. - Familiarity with network monitoring tools, ticketing systems, ITIL, and incident/change management. - Experience in security monitoring and log analysis. - Basic knowledge of AWS, Azure, or VMware is an added advantage. - Preferred Certifications: CCNA / CCNP Enterprise, Fortinet FCP / FCSS, Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist, Sophos Certified Engineer, AWS Cloud Practitioner. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: - Locations: Bukit Jalil (Main Location) & Sunway Pinnacle (Occasional) - Work Schedule: 8x5 support, with on-call rotation as required - Mandatory Operational Requirement: Must be available to cover the mandatory Friday shift from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM as part of the operational roster - Contract Duration: 6 Months • Compensation & Benefits: - Budget: Up to RM4,000 per month • Application Instructions: - Submit updated CV to the hiring contact
