### Role & Company / Project Overview Sky Jobs HR Services is hiring an AWS – IBM DB2 Database Administrator based in Bangalore. The role focuses on core DB2 LUW database administration, architecture solutioning, performance tuning, and high-availability disaster recovery within Linux and AWS environments. ### Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Perform day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of multiple IBM DB2 databases. - Execute database backup, recovery, and comprehensive disaster recovery procedures on daily and weekly schedules. - Perform redirected restores on production and other environments as required. - Monitor database performance continuously and implement tuning optimizations to boost operational efficiency. - Conduct feasibility studies for new database installations and version upgrades. - Carry out capacity planning, space management, and data maintenance across database systems. - Monitor databases regularly for issues including lock contention, deadlocks, and failed updates. - Manage database security, user logins, access control, and permissions. - Assist in deploying new features, schema modifications, database enhancements, and vendor program fixes. - Configure and monitor High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR) architectures. ### Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Proven hands-on experience in IBM DB2 LUW database administration, architecture, and solution design. - Experience installing different versions of DB2 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). - Solid knowledge of Linux operating system concepts and scheduling shell scripts on Linux environments. - Proficiency in generating DDL scripts using the db2look command on existing databases and database objects. - Strong expertise in using RUNSTATS, REORGCHK, and REORG utilities to enhance application performance. - Deep familiarity with data movement utilities including IMPORT, LOAD, and EXPORT under high-volume conditions. - Expertise in database performance tuning via DB2 and DBM configuration parameters, db2advisor, and db2explain tools. - Working knowledge of DB2 Pacemaker setup (HADR 6 to 12) for both Designer and Administrator roles. - Experience with IBM DB2 pureScale implementation is preferred/desired. - Understanding of AWS infrastructure integration is beneficial. ### Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India. - Work arrangement: Full-time professional employment. ### Compensation & Benefits - Standard industry compensation package commensurate with experience. ### Application Instructions Interested candidates should email their updated resumes to the HR recruiter.
