Role & Company / Project Overview: We are urgently hiring an experienced Physical Design Engineer for a 12-month contract role to support high-performance ASIC/SoC designs targeting advanced semiconductor process technologies (5nm / 3nm or newer). Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Execute RTL synthesis for complex ASIC/SoC designs using Cadence Genus • Perform floorplanning and physical implementation using Cadence Innovus • Optimize designs for Power, Performance & Area (PPA) • Analyze timing challenges, critical paths, and timing closure issues • Support synthesis through physical implementation and design convergence • Develop efficient floorplans and routing strategies • Collaborate with RTL, architecture, physical design, and implementation teams • Provide feedback on timing constraints and implementation strategies • Support high-performance, timing-sensitive semiconductor designs Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 10+ years of Physical Design / ASIC / SoC experience preferred • MUST-HAVE SKILL: Strong hands-on experience with Cadence Genus OR Cadence Innovus is REQUIRED • Strong hands-on experience with Cadence Genus and Cadence Innovus • Strong expertise in RTL Synthesis, Floor planning / Place & Route, Timing Analysis & Timing Closure, PPA Optimization, and Physical Implementation • Deep experience with advanced process technologies (5nm / 3nm or newer) • Strong understanding of synthesis-to-implementation correlation • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering, or a related field • Preferred qualifications: SoC / AI / HPC / Accelerator design experience, advanced physical optimization techniques, complex timing closure methodologies, design constraints and implementation flows, and experience working with globally distributed engineering teams Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: • Location: Austin, Texas (100% Onsite) • Local Austin/TX candidates only with a valid local Texas Driver's License (DL) • Contract Duration: 12 Months Contract • Employment Type / Work Authorization: C2C (H-1B, Genuine GC, USC accepted) Application Instructions: Interested candidates should submit their updated resume along with current location, local TX Driver's License status, visa status, and availability.
