Job description

Role & Company / Project Overview: We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with 10+ years of overall experience for a contract opportunity focused on migrating a client's data infrastructure and pipelines from AWS to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Migrate data platforms, ETL pipelines, and cloud infrastructure from AWS to Google Cloud Platform. • Design and optimize reliable, scalable GCP data pipelines. • Migrate Amazon Redshift workloads to BigQuery. • Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform and CI/CD. • Modernize AWS data engineering solutions utilizing native GCP services. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • 10+ years of overall data engineering experience. • Hands-on GCP experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage (GCS), Dataflow, Dataproc, and IAM. • Proven experience migrating data platforms, ETL pipelines, and cloud infrastructure from AWS to GCP. • Strong skills in Airflow or Cloud Composer, Spark/PySpark, Python, and advanced SQL. • Experience migrating Amazon Redshift workloads to BigQuery. • Terraform, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure automation experience. • Track record designing and optimizing reliable, scalable GCP data pipelines. • Preferred: Large-scale cloud migration experience; knowledge of GCP architecture, security, networking, and cost optimization; experience modernizing AWS data engineering solutions with GCP-native services.
