Role & Company / Project Overview: A growing technology company is hiring a remote Mid-Level Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-quality, resilient fintech platforms across the UK and Europe. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Build, enhance, and maintain mission-critical applications using Java. • Work confidently and effectively across large, complex codebases. • Apply modern software engineering practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and Domain-Driven Design (DDD). • Actively pair-program with fellow software engineers. • Continuously refactor code and elevate overall software quality and system resilience. • Work within continuous integration (CI) workflows. • Contribute meaningfully to technical and architectural design discussions. • Automate repetitive software development and deployment tasks. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Proven commercial software development experience. • Strong, proficient skills in core Java and enterprise frameworks. • Demonstrated track record working with large codebases. • Practical exposure to and hands-on experience with TDD. • High comfort level with collaborative pair programming. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. • Must be based in the UK or Europe.
