• Role & Company / Project Overview Zsquare Global Services is hiring a Front-End Software Developer specializing in GIS & Web Mapping for an onsite position in Toronto, Ontario. This role involves designing and implementing interactive geospatial web applications, mapping interfaces, and large-scale enterprise front-end systems. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Customize mapping applications using VertiGIS Studio Web SDK (preferred), Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 SDK, and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript. - Develop and extend GIS viewers and tools using JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React. - Work with VertiGIS Studio Web and Workflow, Geocortex Essentials, ArcGIS Experience Builder, and Web AppBuilder. - Consume and interpret ArcGIS REST services; work with ArcGIS Server publishing and ArcGIS Portal administration and integration. - Integrate workflows and external services, and configure user roles, permissions, and application deployment within the ESRI ecosystem. - Create intuitive interfaces and UI interactions using HTML, CSS, responsive frameworks, and basic visual assets. - Build for large websites and complex systems with cross-browser compatibility. - Translate technical specifications and stakeholder needs into programming specifications, data-driven applications, and tested code. - Design, code, unit test, debug, maintain, deploy, and document applications using structured development methods and current design patterns. - Troubleshoot implementation, conversion, migration, and post-implementation issues. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Strong experience in front-end development using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web frameworks (React). - Hands-on expertise with GIS platforms: VertiGIS Studio Web SDK, Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 SDK, ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, ArcGIS Experience Builder, and Web AppBuilder. - Working knowledge of ArcGIS REST services, ArcGIS Server publishing, and ArcGIS Portal integration/administration. - Experience with relational or hierarchical databases, query languages, communications protocols, middleware, gateways, and installation scripts. - Ability to gather and document technical requirements from stakeholders and subject matter experts; clear communication, collaborative mindset across the SDLC, self-direction, and ability to meet project deadlines. - Ability to design accessible interfaces aligned with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards. - Valuable additional experience: Social Media APIs, product strategy and roadmaps, third-party partnership or licensing assessments, beta or pilot programs, and competitive analysis. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. - Work arrangement: Onsite. • Compensation & Benefits - Contract engagement (C2C). • Application Instructions Submit your resume along with a brief summary of your GIS mapping experience to the application contact.
