Role & Company / Project Overview: San Diego Unified School District, the second largest school district in California and one of the top largest urban school districts in the United States, is seeking an Area Program Manager, Special Education. This full-time leadership role is ideal for dedicated professionals who care deeply for students and are committed to the communities they serve. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Plan, organize, and manage the delivery of special education services for assigned special education programs and/or school sites. • Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare statistical reports to support and implement best practices. • Ensure full compliance with state and federal special education mandates. • Provide ongoing direction, leadership, and guidance to school sites for the implementation and continuation of special education programs and services. • Provide direct leadership, supervision, and guidance to assigned personnel. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to a Master's degree in special education or a related field. • At least four (4) years of leadership experience in the delivery of special education services. • Valid California Administrative Services Credential.
