• Role & Company / Project Overview New York University (NYU), Tisch School of the Arts invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) Master's program and the Interactive Media Arts (IMA) undergraduate program, starting Fall 2027. ITP/IMA's mission is to explore the imaginative uses of emerging technologies to make people's lives safer, more just, more beautiful, more meaningful, and more fun. The department is pluralistic in its methodologies, spanning art, science, engineering, design, the humanities, and emergent methodologies. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Teach and mentor rising artists and practitioners. - Inspire students through intellectual generosity, rigorous critique, and a belief in the transformative power of interactive media and technology. - Guide students in the development of artistic voice, technical mastery, critical thinking, and collaborative practice. - Help expand and strengthen departmental offerings in design and storytelling in interactive media. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Demonstrated track record as an exceptional educator with a deep and sustained commitment to teaching and mentoring. - Expertise in interactive media design and storytelling, including areas such as time-based media, XR, immersive experiences, emerging applications and complications of AI/ML, visual design, interaction design, product design, and UI/UX. - Ability to work across disciplines, backgrounds, and experiences. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Appointment Type: Full-Time, Tenure Track starting Fall 2027. - Location: New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, New York, NY, United States. • Compensation & Benefits - Standard NYU faculty appointment terms and benefits apply. • Application Instructions - Application deadline: November 1, 2026. - Submit applications via the official application portal.
