### Role & Company / Project Overview RUHI Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern focusing on Medical Device R&D. This is a hands-on opportunity to work on real-world medical device development challenges and R&D projects impacting real patient care, applying mechanical engineering principles and computational tools to translate innovative concepts into functional prototypes. Particular project focus includes vascular stents (coronary, peripheral, next-generation designs), airway stents (tracheal, bronchial, patient-specific solutions), respiratory, implantable, and other innovative medical technologies. ### Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Medical Device Design: 3D CAD modelling, component design, and geometry optimization for stents and other medical devices. - Computational Simulations: Computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element analysis (FEA), structural mechanics, and fluid–structure interaction (FSI), depending on project requirements. - Open-Source Engineering: Working with tools such as OpenFOAM, FreeCAD, and CalculiX for simulation and design analysis. - Prototyping and Testing: Supporting 3D printing, prototype development, mechanical testing, and design validation. - Engineering Analysis: Evaluating structural integrity, deformation, flow behaviour, and mechanical performance to support medical device development. ### Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Eligibility: Final-year Mechanical Engineering students. - Strong interest in medical device design, computational engineering, product development, and healthcare innovation. - Experience with 3D CAD modelling, mechanical design, and engineering simulations (CFD, FEA, FSI). - Familiarity with open-source engineering tools (OpenFOAM, FreeCAD, CalculiX) is a significant advantage. - Experience with SOLIDWORKS, ANSYS, Python (for automation & analysis), or other CAD/CAE platforms is welcome. - Self-motivated, problem-solving mindset, comfortable learning independently, and eager to push the boundaries of medical device innovation. ### Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India / Hybrid / Virtual. - Joining: Immediate. ### Application Instructions - Interested candidates should send their CV mentioning 'Mechanical Engineering Intern – Medical Device R&D' in the subject line.
