We are seeking a highly skilled Consulting Engineer with strong expertise in Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform/Cloud to join our growing team. This is a customer-facing role focused on designing, implementing, and operating event-driven, data-in-motion solutions while enabling customers to achieve success with modern streaming architectures. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement Kafka & Confluent-based solutions including topics, schemas, connectors, ksqlDB/Flink jobs, and client applications. Configure, optimize, and manage Confluent Platform/Cloud environments. Develop and review application code, automation, and integration logic. Troubleshoot complex issues across applications, infrastructure, networking, security, and storage layers. Lead delivery workstreams, migrations, and event-streaming implementations. Enable customer teams through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge transfer sessions. Drive best practices around topic design, schema evolution, resilience, security, and performance tuning. Required Skills: Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and/or Confluent Platform/Cloud. Proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, C#, or similar programming languages. Experience with distributed systems, stream processing, Flink, Spark, NoSQL, or related technologies. Production support experience including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and capacity planning. Strong customer-facing consulting or professional services experience. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Skills: AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud experience. Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and DevOps tooling. Data integration with databases, analytics platforms, and SaaS systems. Professional Services/Consulting background. Open-source contributions, technical blogging, or community involvement.
